Women, from the emergence of Islam to the rise of the Islamic world and Islamic civilization, despite certain limitations, have had opportunities to play various social roles. One of the important areas of economic activism where women's presence has been legitimate and a significant instance emphasized by Islam in the economic field is the creation of financial endowments.
The result of this effective presence is the numerous endowments by women throughout the history of Iran and the Islamic world in various fields. The issue of this research is to examine the role of some of the most important women's endowments in sustainable urban development. The author, using a descriptive- analytical method, explains the function of these endowments and examines their direct achievements (the specific impact of women's endowments on sustainable urban environmental development with economic, cultural, and social dimensions) and indirect achievements (respect for women's property rights and social participation in economic activism throughout Islamic history).
