The theology of the city is a collection of knowledge that is obtained from the theological issues related to the city and its contributions, such as citizenship codes of conduct, citizenship rights, citizenship limits, and everything related to the city and city dwelling and is categorized into three branches of opinions and beliefs, ethics and norms, and rulings concerning the city by delving into religious knowledge. The relationship between theology and the city is reciprocal and mutually influential. Religion is not indifferent to humans, animals, plants, the environment and the chain of relationships and the type of communication in life, and the way religion looks at each of the above components forms a profound part of the research fields of theology of the city. Society, social relations and the demands of time and space are also effective in understanding religion. This influence and effect is one of the components that make the theological identity of the city and shows its necessity and importance. In other words, both religion and the city bring up issues for one another. The ultimate goal, in the theological depiction of the city, always fluctuates between realism and idealism, and the balance of this duality is very important. In the modeling of religion for the city, the type of view on the function of religion for the city is of interest, and presuming at least two roles of judgment and guidance for religion can lead to the formation of different models.
